Mexico is a big country that offers not only beautiful landscapes, but also wonderful different tasting food.  It has so many natural scenic areas that you can explore.  Basaseachi National Park is one of the areas you have to visit as it offers so much.

The park is situated in the Chihuahua state, which is based about 150 miles west of the capital city.  It offers visitors the country’s second highest waterfall, named the Basaseachi Falls.  The waterfall is truly magnificent and is located on the Basaseachi River.

Basaseachi National Park

Most people are aware of Copper Canyon as it is popular for outdoor activities for those visiting the state of Chihuahua.  Not many make the trip to Basaseachi National Park and tend to miss out on the special charm this national park holds.  If you would like to avoid the crowds, then this particular park will suit you.  Most of the crowds tend to visit Copper Canyon simply because it is better known.
The easiest way to reach your destination is to head in the direction of the capital city of Chihuahua.  This is easily accessible if you go through El Paso.  You should cross into Juarez and then go south on the Mexico 45.  Once you reach the southern part of Chihuahua, you will find the road well signposted to the Basaseachi National Park.

The Waterfalls

Waterfalls are always appealing and this one will not disappoint you.  It is about 807 feet high and the sheer cliffs surrounding it give it a special awesomeness.  You will be able to visit these waterfalls at any time of year as the water is always flowing, unlike the country’s tallest waterfall, the Cascada de Piedra Volada.

Explore, Explore, Explore!

The waterfall is not the only attraction at the national park.  You have the opportunity to hike throughout the area.  Most of the hikes are along the Basaseachi River which cools it down.  The park is not too big, so you will be able to undertake a day trip and still see most of the National park.

To make this trip an easy, enjoyable one, you should ensure that you have adequate Mexican car insurance cover.  If you have only purchased car insurance for a short period of time, you may be limited to a single day visit to the park.  However, if you envisage staying in the area for a longer period, you should consider obtaining auto insurance for a longer period.  It is easy to do online and the rates you will be offered for a longer term will be competitive such as this one in this URL.

If you have insurance for a longer time period, you can take your time to return to the US.  You may even want to take in some more sights and visit the tallest waterfall in the country.  This will give you the opportunity to compare the two falls and decide which one you will visit on your next trip to Mexico.  It will also give you the opportunity to explore the Copper Canyon region without concern for your Mexican auto insurance as you will be adequately covered by your online broker.

Plan carefully your day’s activities to help you balance your adventures this summertime. There are cool breezy activities such as hours of swimming. Avoid driving at night because livestock roam the highways, even if you have insurance for Mexico.
